Formula is proud to be working with Queensland Rail on the creation of the new $1.9million Queensland Police Service (QPS) Railway Squad outpost at Northgate train station.

The civil works, foundation piers and slab were completed prior to the successful installation of the pre-formed concrete wall panels during the planned electrical shut down on 18th November.

From this point, interior fitout and final exterior finishes and landscaping will become more evident as the cosmetic aspects of the works accelerate in the New Year.

Inspecting the construction site in early November with local member for Nudgee Leanne Linard, Minister for Transport and Main Roads Mark Bailey said the new facility scheduled to open in 2019 would boost the 78-Officer QPS Railway Squad’s ability to work in partnership with Queensland Rail and quickly and efficiently deploy resources to northern stations in the event of a security incident, including the new Redcliffe Peninsula line.

Formula CEO Gary McDonell also indicated that this type of new build construction project where the works affect public thoroughfares and therefore customers is something Formula has significant experience managing.

“Formula are delighted to leverage on our highly successful track record of working complex interior fitout and construction assignments in live 24/7 environments; such as operational hospitals, CBD office towers and retail shopping complexes.”

“In these settings, maintaining our client’s social licence and high safety protocols for their users is critical to the success of the whole mission” Gary McDonell said.
